Design for cultural sovereignty and community power.

Jeriah Lau / 劉榮恩 is a Chinese-Indonesian designer based in Melbourne/Naarm working across identity and product design. His identity practice focuses on cultural work, community organisations, and projects that centre marginalised voices.

Design is never neutral—it either upholds existing power structures or challenges them. His work prioritises cultural grounding, community connection, and thoughtful collaboration with those whose stories are being told.

Jeriah brings fifteen years of design experience across multiple countries and disciplines. He is particularly interested in identity work with cultural organisations, community groups, and justice-focused initiatives.

This work takes place on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Background

Jeriah has worked as Senior Product Designer at Zipline.io since 2021, focusing on healthcare compliance technology for aged care centres, protecting vulnerable members of the community. Prior to that, he spent seven years in product, UX, and visual design roles across health-tech and compliance platforms.

He holds a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication Design from Harapan Bangsa Institute of Technology, Indonesia.
